Surviving Minnesota Winter with Great Indoor Activities
Not a fan of winter? Don’t give in to it and just hibernate for the next 3 months, get yourself out there and discover some fun new things you can do INDOORS!
While Minnesota has an abundance of fun outdoor winter activities, you’d be surprised at the amount of unique and interesting indoor activities you can find if you look hard enough.
Here are just a few for your winter bucket list:
Let it Roll!
Climb a Rock
Rock climbing is one of the fastest growing sports in the US and places such as Vertical Endeavors offers indoor climbing for all ages and all abilities. Routes are available for all skill levels and offer a great workout, both physically and mentally.
Under the Sea
SEA LIFE Minnesota Aquarium at Mall of America brings you closer than ever before to thousands of sea creatures, including sharks, sea turtles, rays, jellyfish, seahorses and more! With special behind-the-scenes packages, dives, and party options, it’s a great escape year round!
For Kids of all Ages
Need even more water? For the kid in everyone, check out the Waterpark of America. You can get an All-Day or Half-Day Pass, or even spend the night in the hotel for a little stay-cation.
Make Your Escape
Have you ever wondered what it would be like being trapped in a room with a zombie? Room Escape Adventures offers an interactive experience where you’re trapped in a room with a zombie that’s chained to the wall. Hidden somewhere in the room is a key that will unlock the door to your freedom.
If you’ve ever wanted to try paintball, Splatball is the perfect intro to the sport. With their new low-impact equipment, it’s a great way for kids and beginner adults to play… takes out some of the sting.
Of course, might be a great time to try out or renew that gym membership… And don’t forget our many museums (many have free days!), community ed classes, paint pubs, plays, volunteering, and more!
You are only limited by your reluctance to walk out to your car!
